The Salish Sea
and 73 sad killer whales
on their last legs
struggling to live
man their greatest enemy
who cares less about wild life
his behaviour really awful
creating awful strife
These creatures being subjected
to wickedness and evil
oil slicks every which way
pollution and the like
no one seems to care a bit
malnutrition and fearful noise
despite their lamentation
from man there is no salvation
we are hideous and wrong
unconcerned we be
indifferent to their awful plight
and we remain irreverently
opposed to even helping them
coping with their stress
If anything we make it worse
loading up the mess
and despite the fact
That people know others couldn’t care
they set out to make matters worse
Which is hardly fair
these killer whales are wonderful
the K Pod they are called
.and now really are struggling
and no one has overhauled
The insouciance that’s out there
the world knows all about their plight
and it seems just does not care.
and how can that be right.
