and north of the Kasai

we love fruit and leaves

and honey when we

get a chance

And an egg or two some times

we see

otherwise lying squirrels

and Duikers for meat

Preferring the  fruits

in the Congo heat.

we are known as the Panins

long legs and dark face

Long hair  on our heads

and our pink lips  that grace

our wonderful  counternance

is because we

are concerned about humans

the poachers  you see

they are ugly and evil

no empathy

cruel very cruel

insensitivity

the humans robotic

unlike us you see

we are friendly and loving

having morality

family is paramount

all of our troop

matter to us

the whole of our group

the warring in the DRC

its awful and we

are now on  the red list

for you all to see

being endangered

do people care

we are active seed planters

the fertility

of the forests we share

are better by far

passing through us

they grow quicker

we star

in the holding the forests together

so we

should be encouraged

not shot  haplessly

hunting is evil

threats made to us

is wrong we’re not bushmeat

No one  will discuss

our future our habitat

all they will  do

is  kill us vile humans

or put us in  some zoo
