HONEY around 17/11/2014

Severely wounded
About the head and neck
The ear and eye
Wounded covered in maggots
It looked as though she would die
Full on trepidation
Though aspiring in a way
Beginning the treatments
On that very first day

The wounds were deep and ugly
All seemed hopeless in a way
But she was full of spirit
Full of hope wanting to say
She wasn’t really ready
To perish in the street
Washed her cleaned her loved her
Until her eyes did greet

Ours a reassurance
There was much more to come
Removing hundreds of maggots
She might have been more glum
But In fact despite the agony
That obviously she was in
She let us clean the dressings every day
Towards her win

Every day new dressings
Pus was everywhere
We were not going to neglect her
We just wanted to care
Washing her healing her caring
Everyday
Until she starting wagging
That tail of hers to say

She felt a little better
Day 75 that long
She was very loving
And slowly becoming strong
Jumping up a bit at us
Her confidence assured
She was kind of gushing
And That is when she scored
