Looking out at my garden and thinking of the equinox

No vivid colours to speak of
The hedge and the copse of a hue
Recently snow from the heavens
Had fallen and it had frozen the dew
Ravens and long tailed tits already nesting
Caught out by the season too

A bevy of daffodils giving me yellow
Motioning carpeting where
The bulbs had been dormant
For the whole year
But sprang into life and were glowing
Right here

The wonder exciting new senses
Silently singing away
The Vernal Equinox
Equal, in the offing
Though I hear it might
Still snow today.
