Fear of the forest

Fear man fear
Of the forest woodland
It moves it clambers
Its everywhere
Ancient wildness
Can you feel it
The energy
It wants to share

Dangling strangling tangling
Branches softwoods hardwoods
Made aware
Renewal its really now the lifes blood
Fertility is everywhere

A dimension up and on and over
Its easy to get lost they say
Fear of it can be a constant
As ash keys falls
And float away

The darkness even in the daylight
Shade creates great shadows where
Deer and munkjak hide creating
Solitude in which to share

Come to us when sunlight is at
Its most bright and scorching time
Nestle in our shade a little
Watch the moths and beetles climb

Stay on till the moon is yellow
Thats when ghosties linger long
All eyes shine upon each other
Come and hear the eerie song

The ancient woodlands harbour many
Souls and in their shadows we
Discover all there is to see there
The sculptures of each fallen tree

An on them fungi comes a calling
Soaking through their hollows to
Riches of the heartwood calling
Gradually eating all through

Fear man fear the forest sleeping
Owls a peeping mice a creeping
Dangling strangling tangling branches
And perhaps a maiden is lost and weeping
