great jagged jAws
Teeth all over the place
Rugged and menacing
To have one chase
You would be nightmarish
That you can say
Its all about fear of them
Thats every day
What you might not know about them
Is they
Have a clear hierarchy
And so its a way
Of true understanding
Among them to how
They each live their lives
And Whether they row
The biggest the heaviest
Who ever thAt be
Is the kingpin the boss
The rest history
He eats what ever is the best
Around
And mates with the ladies
And pound for pound
Size makes the difference
And the others all know
If they try it on with him
They have to go
And if other try
Mating with one of his flames
They will be slaughtered
He doesnt play games
The smaller males can hunt
For how would they grow
But if the big male sees the kill
He might show
He might take the food
For he is the king
And he decides about everything
All up the river banks
Thats how it goes
There is demarkation
And everyone knows
In the dry season
The drains and the pools
They dry up completely
So the river cools
Thats where they all go
HIPPO’s as well
And all the local animals
In the dry spell
So the gangs are on form
Thats the crocodiles who
Compete with the Lions
Who know what to do
FUKU And Wildebeest
They cheifly tend
To be wanting a drink
And some time will spend
They have to be careful
For the crocs lie in wait
As do the Lion prides
Who are never late
To a kill when it happens
For they tend to be
Up front and involved
As to what we can see
A croc under the water
Can be there for two hours
Hidden and motionless
With strident powers
Read to leap extraordinarily fast
It all about timing
And how the die’s cast
The prey can be thirsty
With few pools around
On the river where water is found
But there in the river the croc
Do abound
Also there are Hippo’s
Great bruising souls
A croc keeps his diatance
They have differing roles
The Hippo is veggie
But immensely strong
And will tell the croc if he doesnt belong
Croc are not cold blooded
But do like to graze
In the sun it is fun
Thats why they laze
About meditating
And looking for prey
With in the dry season
Will visit each day
As the river dries up
The crocs and the birds
Will work together
They work in herds
So crocs and birds
Can partake of the fish
These strong relationships
Work on a wish
Water is life
As of course we all know
Those animals who die
And some do you know
Are eaten by crocodiles
The king will come
And do his death roll
And hear his heart drum
Crocs swim about 10 km per hour
The deer a bit faster
Crocs acidic shower
Is the most pitent force of all animals they
Can literally digest the bones
Right away
They will ambush the animals
Or find them dead
Really they dont mind
They are energy led
So if they can find something
Its better they
Find it and eat it
Than catch it on way
