The pipeline

The first people may be arrested
For trespass on their own land
The guardians of intention
It is they who understand
Environmental degradation
And the sacredness of whole
It is them that ran with animals
And who have the truest soul

Their land above all else to them
Is as sacred as it can be
They ploughed their blood into it
With what was adversity
AMerica should bow to them
Instead she carries on
Wiping the floor with these Angels
And though many have gone

Many still are present
With memories who care
They love the land they fought for
Whilst this may appear rare
They are a splendid people
Guardians of soul
And to treat them as we treat them
And to imagine we control

Them by building a pipeline
Carrying the vile crude
Calamitous and awful
Which of course will exude
These pipelines break for certain
And sacred lands will be
Lost in dark pollution
For all eternity

America used genocide
Against these tribes before
Their blood it filled the rivers
Raping man and squaw
Slaughtering their babies
And terrorising soul
Moving them to reservations
Really to control

All throughout their history
The indigenous they know
They all have dreaded memories
Of the hatred that did grow
In hearts and minds they suffered
The vagaries of greed
Of arrogance and ignorance
And my goddess did they bleed

They lost so many brothers
So many sisters slaughtered by
The armies who came forcefully
The only reason why
The land that the first people
Had worked on all their lives
Had struggled with the elements
And who now faced the long knives

Millions were Wiped out and lost
That’s when Hollywood
Re- wrote the bloody history
And the propaganda stood
There for hungry children
In America and the U.K.
To be taught really bloody lies
That was day after day

We got the wrong end of the stick
History and lies
The first people lived through all of that
Many ultra wise
Philosophical clearly understanding more
Of what makes nations great
And what life is really for

They live life by example
Many sent away
Controlled in reservations
To live out every day
They have their honest culture
They are closer to the land
The ways of Nature are part of them
And they surely understand

That to build a great long pipeline
That stretches far and wide
From Dakota into Illinois
It’s a sacredness suicide
The land the water courses
The forests everywhere
A breach and they are commonplace
And forsee complete despair

And why would a nation do this
The tribes have the insight they
Live and die on the land they work
Every single day
Their marrow is made up of it
Too much blood has flowed
In battles pitched and darkly
It’s been an ugly road

And now they want to foist this pipeline
On the indigenous who
Are not prepared to allow it
So what does Anerica do
Brings its homeland security
Obama’s puppets who
Are brainwashed by the system
To do what they must do

Arrest the Angels swiftly
For trespass on their own land
For being cautious about their water
And that they understand
The vagaries of humans
Caught pin pure greed
Only out for profit
And ways that they succeed

And as for everybody else
They can go to hell
Sell them down the river
Imprison them as well
After all they are unlike us
They care and live as one
They speak a different languagE
When the day is done

Whatever transpires America
Is going to face the wrath
It’s government is stepping out
Down a dangerous path
History may come back
Hard on murderers who say
go back to your reservation
Or we will blow you away

The world looks on at what’s happening
It makes no sense at all
A pipeline full of darkly crude
Of course it does appal
Any thinking caring person living on the land
Who know the ways of nature
And who can understand

Their water is their spirit
Is their life and all must hear
A pipeline that will likely burst
At some point brings much fear
Without the precious water
The tribes of course will die
The land will be polluted
In one wink of their eye

And so we watch this battle
Of what pure hearts and minds
Of water and the precious land
They occupy, one finds
The ignorance apparent
Amongst the city folk
Compared to the First Nation people
Who clearly now go for broke

The judge next month will tell them
What they have to do
Shut up and just walk away
Or stop the pipeline to
Illinois across the river
THe Missouri she
rolling ever onwards
With hope eternally

I was so inspired to write this poem today by a certain Facebook friend called Petra Domay-Strelow
Who was very positive and who shared and liked
A lot of my previous tweet Facebook comments
She basically had done this just before I woke up and so I wrote this poem
For the indigenous people of America and the pipeline that threatens their sacred lands and waterways.
Thanks dear lady for posting some of these indigenous tweets
You were very kind And started my day on a happy note x
