An intelligence of sorts. (Bruce Ciz)

Musing on a sheet of glass
The image of such clarity
Before my eyes a window to a world
That just so many see
Simulating life and death
A parallel lets say
When considering the red blooded souls
Who faithfully display
Something true to nature
An adumbration for
The analogy of reckoning
That is part of natural Law

The existence and the givenness
Of all life that we know
What is our potentiality
Our flesh and blood on show
In essence we are similar
Our organs much the same
Similar characteristics
All from our ancestral flame

An outwardness thats different
Animals and man
But all having that life force
And a probable life time plan
An irreconcilability
A contrariness may be
Of course we have our differences
And a constancy

We have our family likeness
We are earthlings after all
We are all created
We answer the call
A consequence of harmony
And a supremacy of thought
A connectivity a family so to say
Whether animal or human earthling
With our genesis we pay

Each has the unique quality
That life on earth provides
A predetermined tenancy
Which in our marrow hides
This is where the differences
Equate to lack of care
Subsisting on a regimen
That sadly we don’t share

Causation is a factor
The author of our life
Our destiny is compromised
By what is man made strife
Which becomes a determinant
Compelling us to be
Subject to such powerlessness
And so we atrophy

We all inhabit somewhere
Regardless of our size
Some choose the true wilderness
And that opens their eyes
To freedoms unabated
And to dangers may be too
Similarly in our cities
We must fall in line
And do

What is expected of us
In our boxes on our streets
We share the same vitality
We have the same heart beats
The vital spark the breath of life
The symbiotic thread
But somehow we forget this
Which is now why we are led

Further away from the animals
And their mortality
We categorize their family groups
And their animality
It drives a wedge between us
Well some of us lets say
Who abuse and use them tragically
In a human way

The creation of classes
Some human earthlings do
Fit into the structure
Like the working classes who
Only have their labour
A sub division they
Suffer in so many ways
As the animals do today

And groups have predetermined rulers
Matriarchal and patriarchal too
Animals have an apparent respect
Whereas humans are clueless to
The equality of reason
The doubtfulness of thought
Prejudice it countermands
The origin we sought

Wisdom and no understanding
A trait we see today
A psychopathy thats growing
An insanity some say
All have varying reasons
To be disappointed by
Profit and unconsciousness
And The equivalence of why

We are driven many of us
By the masters with their whips
We are losing so much of our might
What now comes from our lips
Is often inexpressible
Control is all around
We are creating victims
And in effect are being drowned

In a fog of information
It permeates our whole
Much of it contains untruths
The latency of soul
Of course life is our privilege
All life is and should
Be sacrosanct and impervious
To those who are never good

But tragically the gap between
The animals and man
Is widening and their husbandry
Is part of humanities plan
To consume them is the path most walk
So the suffering remains
Little love and care alas
Driven on tight reins

As man traduces other men
What role do animals play
Joyless dreary cheerless lives
Until death comes their way
Its hard to see a light
Beyond the tunnels of despair
Its really far beyond my life
To imagine that man will care

And actually see the animals
In a similar light
Will see them as his teachers
And understand their right
To walk to swim to fly to crawl
To speak their varying ways
And to come together as earthlings should
And together raise

Their incarnation upwards
Accepting of each others worth
Learning from each other
And so protect this earth
Minimise all suffering
On every level be
Sharing and be caring
For all eternity
