Tulip the slaughterhouse

The slaughterhouse
In Manchester
Sprayed with slaughter spray
Didn’t you think we would realise
That today was the day
Deep breathing and this acrid smell
Of death in that vile truck
All crammed in together
And no one cares a fuck

Melancholia rises
Futility in our eyes
A silence washing through our soul
Thats about the size
Can’t we become invisible
Can’t we run way
Who will take the role
Of leader
And be the first to pay

To face the
The dreaded slasher
Be cut ear to ear
Bleeding like a fountain
Undergoing fear
Really of the highest
When all we want is life
From all these green clad sickO’s
Who just increase our strife

Tulip they use flowers to hide
Their murderous attitude
Their vile intent
Not heaven sent
But wholly bloody crude
Packed inside this vast arena
Scrunched up and alone
We are pigs not fucking figs
Yes our covers blown

You humans are a heartless bunch
The supermarkets too
Treat us just like nothing
They are clueless who
In their right mind would murder us
For profit in the bank
What price is each of our lives
Your answer yes its rank

One by one we file in
To be thrust upon the chain
We do our kick in the air routine
We know it is in vain
We feel the thrust of naked steel
Upon our naked breast
All us sows are for the chop
We hope we passed the test

Good bye cruel world forever

Hi Rex, I love your poem!! I came across it by accident searching for how Tulip slaughter the pigs. Do you know for sure that their throats are cut? The noise that comes from the place certainly sounds like it anyway.

I’m part of the Manchester Pig Save group who protest outside Tulip in Manchester and bear witness to the pigs just before they have their short lives cruelly ended. Would you mind if I shared your poem in the group?
