Chained by its rear leg
With no where to stretch
With trees all around
He feels like a wretch
Such a frustration
No salvation here
Chained tightly nothing
To reach, it is clear
Standing on clutter
Without success
He has a long trunk
But gets in a mess
He’s not made of elastic
And the leaves are too far
Restrained in his movements
And the chain it does scar
He pulls hoping he can reach
But of course
He is hurting his leg
With considerable force
Applied to the stretch
Its frustrating as hell
And The weight on his shoulders
Is beginning to tell
Shackled and trammelled
By yes man unkind
Who does it for devilment
Or he is blind
This poor soul is suffering
Every day
Hurting his own leg
By pulling away
Nobody comes to his aid anymore
And his disappointment clearly is raw
Thwarted and baffled as to why he cannot
Get up to the branches stuck here on the spot
Each pull is a great anti climax oh dear
Tantalizingly close but far from here
Enough to taste green leaves
The watery worth
Instead he falls clumsily
Onto the earth
Blessed be. Much love and thank you.
The frustration of that poor elephant chained to the railings pulling his back leg silly trying to get to the food growing nearby but just out of reach
It is frighteningly awful that poor soul the torment
Thanks for seeing and reading this my Dear Susan
