Are we free?

Are we free
Who says we are
Democracy
Who plays the star
Do you my friend
Or is it me
Or is it them
Those we can’t see

What right have we
Our heavy toil
We babble do we
And we boil
The lies they print
That some believe
The irony
That they achieve

The bankers class
The scoundrels do
Steal everything
From me and you
In every way they cut
And thrust
And treat us with
Complete disgust

Reality creates a cage
For all of us
Are in that rage
Of really knowing where we are
Freedom truly a place
Now far

Look at the wars
And the refugees
Desperate people
No one free’s
Their hearts and souls
And they must fly
Take the boats
Though some must die

The little lad
Face down in sand,
Broken by waves
But he reached the land
Where no one wanted him
The camera lens
Clicked
The message that it sends

One of terror
One of pain
A three year old
Died in vain
Tossed just like a plastic doll
In the breakers
He did roll

Crowds of people
Rot in places
Holding camps
Where angry faces
Look out at the bright new world
Where all of them are being
Hurled

The economies are reaching lows
People they will come to blows
The banks have stolen every thing
Now its human suffering

So many believed all
That they read
It was crap and it has led
Many to pack up and run away
From the ruins
That became their day

The upright suffer
The guilty go
Look at Palmer and you will know
We are all canned Lions
In our concrete zoo
And the system is fucking
With us too

Look at the queues
For the x box crap
The first of its kind
Who will be the sap
Who gets the best price
Never me
For I am not caught up
In their lunacy

The laws are out there
The edicts come
You shall not, you cannot
Oh yea there is some
You might not have seen them
You are fast asleep
Too busy counting
All of those sheep

The corporate tsunami
Is underway
A lot of victims
Are here to stay
FEMA camps being prepared
Where very few
Will be spared

In applying the principles
We shall find
Terror that will
Blow our mind
How did we sleep
Through all of this
Clearly this lot took the piss

They controlled it all
All we learned
The TV the papers
Were we concerned
No we just went on our way
Till now
And we know we all will pay
And how!

The refugees they thought the same
Really now who do they blame
Great armies march
Their pets in tow
And everything else
Of course did go

They lost it all
Their lifetimes toil
Gone overnight
All down to oil
All down to greed
All down to those
Who want it all
And of course it shows

Broken buildings
Broken lives
Broken hearts
Who survives
All of this clamour
All of this pain
And now we know
It was all in vain
