Whales and dolphins sensitivity compared to man

The ocean holds a world of sound
Where advanced species dwell
Their use of echo location
And bio sonar spell
Out enormous need for whales and dolphins
For they do
Communicate effectively
Which is entirely true

Enter the naval escapades and
Alas big oil
Sonar testing and air gun blasting
Creating a turmoil
For many of the creatures
That exist in oceans wide
Whose sensitivity to sound
Is critical they hide
these factors
But truthfully we know
That seismic blasting kills them
And this problem seems to grow

Big oil takes this technology to search
For oil and gas
Underneath the ocean floor
Where it seems a mass
Of energy is stored and off shore drilling
Sees the need
To blast the oceans violently
If drilling is to succeed

It’s really overpowering
The tolerance severe
And they kill five times
The annual quota at Taiji
Can you hear
Exactly what I am saying
Their profit making scheme
Is slaughtering our whales and dolphins
It is one horrific dream

And, it is persistent
24 hours per day
100,000 times louder
Than a jet engine they say
Imagine just imagine that
We create this awful hell
Underneath the ocean
And we have heard tell

It annihilates the fish eggs
And the larvae too
Hearing loss leads to stranding’s
And death, therefore my view
Again is these corporations
Expect wild life to be
The sacrificial lambs
enabling their profitability

We have to get behind this
And make it very clear
Big oil with all its money
Is destroying and causing fear
To all the oceans creatures
Such destruction it is wrong
It’s greed again and selfishness
And As such does not belong

In a world of sensitivity
The ocean is that place
With myriads of wonders
It’s something we all must face
These fiendish bloody operatives
Clawing
The sea bed
Destroying habitats at will
And leaving angels dead

Have to get a wake up call
We have the power of voice
And like the whales they silence us
But we still have choice
we have to rise up all of us
And give these bastards hell
Seismic blasting and sonar
Is technology we should not sell

Look into the future
These creatures are advanced
Much more so than big oil
And science that has danced
Into our sad reckoning
And created their own space
Where money talks
And where no soul walks
They are a vile disgrace

Big oil usurps the science
For it’s own damn good and we
Sit back dumbed down by their ad’s
And set the bastards free
To destroy, our vast oceans
And all the souls that dwell
In the watery heaven
That has become their hell
