The absurdity of hunting

The ridiculousness of hunting
In this day and age
The senselessness and futility
It’s really hard to gauge
They talk just clear cut twaddle
On conservation grounds
Such arrogance and ignorance
When they are out of bounds

She talks of the black bear she
Killed in Canada and we
Knew it was an old bear
And that’s why she could see
That it was there to be hunted
That why creation calls
This a heartless maxim
Spread near and far by fools

Whether it’s a fox or hare
Or a black bear makes no odds
Hunting is just hunting
Appealing to the gods
Appealing to the conservationists
who know the score
It’s the truth it’s about wisdom
Part and parcel of the law

She takes her child to watch
The action
To guide him on the way
She feels sorry for the ignorant
Who dispute her right to play
To kill to shoot the animals
As a public figure she
Feel wonderful just grateful
That the animals can be

There for her to murder them
The power surge is so good
Watching the fall for the good of all
That memory just could
Stay with her for ever
Reminding her that she
Used her skills and knowledge
Affirmatively

as for animal rights campaigners
She just feels that we
Are ignorant we don’t understand
Their basic pulpitry
Is without realization
And enlightenment
And so
She carries on regardless
Expecting it to grow
