An eye for an eye

Hot stuff was the dogs name
He had a dodgy eye
And was taken to a teaching hospital
Yes you might ask why
There an assistant professor
Of ophthalmology
Examined the dog removed an eye
But the good eye actually
The blind eye he just left intact
So the poor dog now can’t see
Can’t hear
It’s clear in fear each tear
Will tragically now be
The excuse was
That’s the dogs short hair
Means the doctor didn’t know
Which eye was good
And which eye was bad
His own eyes seem to me
To be utterly useless
The medical notes must say
Left or right there’s no excuse
Sue him and make him pay
