Land of the memories some of them good

At the moment it’s them
But it, could soon be
Us without water to drink
Or to see
Or to wash or to clean
The corporate axe could come down
They are mean

As the rates have shot up
And wages come down
The people are suffering
All over town
It is our country said to be free
Martial law’s coming
It has to be

When they switch off your water
They basically say
This is the end
The corporates pay
So we pay the corporates don’t ask us why
If we don’t pay
Then we shall die

Communist china
Russia no way
This is America
Freedom they say
Freedom to breathe
Freedom to drink
Where there’s no water
Freedom to think

They have switched you off
You are no more
Nothing is free
That’s the new law

Detroit that the city
Detroit that’s the place
Detroit once I lived there
And died there
