Ghana dies slowly because of the digital age

E waste hell
The fires are lit
Computers burned each day
Huge amounts of illegal waste
Exported there they say

With all it’s vile contaminants
It creates such toxic smoke
Recycled in Afrika
And of course it is no joke
It’s sending our filth
over there
They burn it great huge palls of smoke
That fills hearts with despair

The smoke blows skywards swallowing up
The oxygen of life
Leaving terrible residues
On market foods such strife
Is caused by all this filth they burn
Heavy metals fly
Up into the sky of blue
The particulates then lie

All over the foodstuffs the markets fruits on sale
Children pregnant women breathing
Breathing it a trail
Of the most obnoxious chemicals
Settling on their skin
Everyone is aware of it
It’s choking many a thin

Dime is spent in burning this
The west should be ashamed
Exporting all its digital shit
We should all be blamed
Afrika can’t bear this stuff
It should,never be shipped
But ask the government about it
And they all stay tight lipped

It leads to organ damaged
Cancer is everywhere
Breathing is impossible
in the smoke filled air
We have to realise our waste
Is our waste and we should
Look after it in Europe
That would at least be good

Shipping it to Afrika
And polluting their fresh air
And killing off their children
Well it’s not bloody fair
