The golden Sun

The  golden sun

just look at it

no difference from now how

the caveman who looked

up with his unshaken eye

and that flower

growing on the ledge below

as white as white can be

no different from the snowdrops

I planted there for thee

to remind you of your beauty

that was beyond  compare

and your eyes were so expressive

as is your lovely hair

your as pure as any angel

that ever set foot here

to honour you is special

and to be with you it is clear

the caveman must have hoped he’d see

the vision which is you

instead he saw the golden sun

and gave me his eyes to view

to share the infinite beauty

and watch it grow and grow

like the snowdrops peeping

through the frosty ground

that I love so

and each time they poke

through the earth

its my greetings dear love to you

and even though I am not around

I swear my love is true
