Flotsam and Jetsam

Mountains of rubbish

strewn everywhere

over oiled seabird

and some despair

plastic and paper

and much else besides

all swept into the cove

on the back of the tides

fueled by the wind

and the waves all can see

the torment of  torrents

and where we all be

exchanging the coast

for whats most on our mind

the extent of the rubbish

that we’ve left behind

flotsam and jetsum

its just everywhere

we treat the ocean

like we are not aware

its inhabitants suffer

immeasurably so

by the wires and the nets

and the oil as you know

radioactivity and PCB’s

the flame retardent’s

we are on our knees

nobody wants this

its never fair

it just goes to show

because we  dont care

and no one wants to know
