The Wolves especially written for Terri Lynn Mitchell

Imagine it

warrior’s

who must be wilderness wise

swollen with such instinct

within those  great big eyes

knowing all the hazards

out there waiting, and

the lone wolf has to  realise

and always understand

man un kind is sometimes

ready to ambush

with his unfair advantages

with guns and bows

that push

forward into his space

he’s the lonely guy

he must sense so very much

beneath the earth and sky

survival is the absolute need

and wolves  of course  they know

their lives have to be secretive

which troubles the man tribe so

he’s bound them up in mystery

and plotted their downfall

infused them with some magic

and enhanced their ghostly call

painted it as more sinister

with his fictional approach

the howl that drives the lonesome

mad

the hunter man does broach

he leaves the lone wolf vulnerable

to trigger hunting trolls

who search the land

with their 4×4’s

but really they are poles

apart from the great Alpha

that may have led a pack

that collectively did run the gauntlet

and could take  the flack

for he may have had his army

underneath the sun

through the myriad forests

down along the streams

they had run

instinctively great knowledge

that was  handed down and they

can hunt the forest adequately

and find whatever prey

they are integral beings

and they live according to

the laws laid down by the great Mother

and that is what they do

they are the real predation

they create the countrywide

where there’s wolves theirs balance

that cannot be denied

they were truly heaven sent

man un kind  was not

he never ever stops to think

thats why he hasn’t got

really the equilibrium

which is startled by the way

taking out the predators

we  see so much decay

saplings torn a’sunder

seedlings swallowed fast

lots of deers and rabbits

having a real blast

as time moves on trees  don’t appear

no trees no leaves no flowers

no insects and no birds will come

no bee’s  and the  passing hours

have changed we’ve lost a great deal

which man un kind can’t see

he really is insensitive

and  so arrogant he be

for he is from the city

the glass and concrete crowd

his ears are deafened by it all

everything’s too loud

he never takes his shoes off

and he overworks his gob

he has his flashy rifle

he’s some banker thats his job

with the most expensive ammo

but up top  he’s not there

not out in the wilderness

without his gun,

the bear

would have him for his supper

as would the wolf

for they

are brighter than the stars at night

and aware of him all day

if he had the mind of

any wolf

who prowls the wilderness

he would respect all of them more

and not  think of them less

the wolves and what they are here for

they live where they are born

they strengthen all the species

and create their own new dawn

of complete understanding

the chain is linked and straight

they are the apex predators

and seemingly their fate

was laid down many aeons ago

and we must let them be

to kill them as we are doing

is the complete travesty

its causing such a breakdown

in all we see and do

and man is his own enemy

for he hasn’t got a clue

when man is gone forever

and there could be a time

the wolf and other predators will return

there is no rhyme

or reason for their non appearence

they are the warriors who

maintain the natural balance

for that is what they do

his push

forward some  even with planes
