Jaws

These films  got into our psyche

created in us fear

going in the water

a fin just could appear

a great white

it might see us

as breakfast

and that fear

increased out of proportion

to the risk

and that was clear

its mouth of massive molars

its vital staring eye

the mock up job

within the film

caused such panic

which is why

the shark

has got this aura

heightened to be sure

by imagery and  magic

and of course the blood and gore

out in Western

there have been

a number

of attacks

people scuba diving

how can one relax

causing blood in the water

and being there as well

and seeing all those tell tale signs

that sort of come from Hell

Sharks are apex predators

created yes to be

providing a  strict balance

to creativity

futuristic designs 

born aeons ago

these are splendid creatures

who know the pith and flow

its us who become victims

a few of us each year

remembering Jaws

its great applause

and layering the fear

Western Australia knows that

and only too well

Australia’s the place

where sharks compete

with humans

and sometimes come face to face

the government is crazy

and recently have said

they are going to get to grips

more sharks will be dead

from shooting them to catching them

on baited hooks, and they

will reduce the risk

for human kind

and make the buggers pay

this really is no answer

the government they err

someone really didn’t think it through

didn’t concur

with reality and the people

and the balance in the sea

and the truth behind the

problems and the fatality

poor judgement is one answer

to why humans get attacked

looking like a seal perhaps

as to why the sharks react

coming up from depths they see

a shape resemblingprey

and thats enough for a shark

to attack

on any given day

human beings know this

swimmers have to be

much more sensible in what they wear

and really thats the key

ignorance and arrogance

cause problems everywhere

but killing sharks just because they are sharks

can only bring despair

the environment beneath the waves

into the natural world

doesn’t need man’s helping hand

for where his spirits hurled

is only causing mayhem

for nature holds the key

creation  the salvation

not the gun or hook

the free

thinkers now among us know

murdering is wrong

imbalance will be obvious

we do not belong

in the pot imagining

that our involvements right

for what we do is destroy

it all

the great matrix of the night

yesterday they started

killing sharks they saw

the error of involvement

is really at our core

grey suits out in Canberra

or wherever ought to be

dressed up in a wet suit

and be pushed into the sea
