ORANGUTAN ‘s last stand

We are now close to extinction
despite the years when we
have fought hard to just live our lives
completely naturally
Birute has been an angel
but the corporates we know
are making a killing
from the Palm oil that they grow
they do not care even a little
for us and all our friends
and so many souls are dying
it seems now that it ends
in total vile disaster
as our rainforest are torn
a’sunder by the chain saws and the
JCB’s to warn
you what will happen to all of you
nobody now hears
we are lost we are driven back
we have our daily tears
so many of us dying
so many of us maimed
so many of us threatened
its the corporates now blamed
Palm oil being grown just everywhere
it seems to be
that all this profit that they make
doesn’t account for me
as Orangutans we depend on the trees
for everything
and the crazy saws and chopping blades
honestly they bring
fire and brimstone to us
they poison and they tear
all my family are running
we are running everywhere
there is no where to hide it seems
we are at and end and we
will perish in the horrible fires
why does it have to be

one last hope just one last plea
don’t buy this palm oil craze
tell your supermarkets
you want to save the days
you want to save the forests
you need to see us be
living for a few more years
high up in the tree
if you refuse to help us
if you just look away
we will become extinct
goodbye is all I can say
I feel let down by all of you
my family if they die
in Eternity I promise you
forever I will cry
