Tryheron sykotom (Foie Gras)

I heard it came from Egypt
those Pharaoh’s loved their geese
but the concept of creating
what to me is a release
of unbelievable logic
horrific at its root
a fatty diseased liver
conceived, by some brute

no one in their right mind
could imagine such a thing
how foie gras farmers process
their birds and somehow bring
their livers that’s deep down inside
their bodies to a size
ten times greater than it was
3 weeks before it dies

I mean this is irregular
disproportionate and wrong
if the bird had been mean’t to
have a liver this size
all along
creation would have done this
and to think that to use gavage
force feeding them to do it
so the liver would enlarge

is tantamount to the most
grotesque thing, anyone could do
it tears their throats to pieces
caged upright how we screw
the life force out of innocence
they have done nothing wrong
and its all about our profit
and where does that belong

in the process of gratuitous
violence which is what we use
these are sentient creatures
why do we abuse
they feel the pain of thrusting
tubes of corn fat down their throat
for 3 weeks they taste agony
as their bodies start to bloat

as their livers squash their rib cage
and balloon into their lungs
their breathing becomes laboured
as on their final rungs
of life still the feeding frenzy
it creates in them such ill
such agony such woefulness
and in this state
we still fill
their bodies and keep filling
the feeling must be so
awful they’re at deaths door
and feeling themselves grow

standing upright in that cage
they cannot rest at all
they cannot move or lay or sit
this feeling does appal
any thinking person
anyone who cares
anyone who realises
the state of affairs

The Egyptians may have mooted
the Goose was good to eat
but down the ages
some gourmand sod
really did unseat
such vileness
just so nasty a method
if you ask me
and the fact that its continued
creates depravity

Foie gras is purely hell on earth
to consume this vile disease
is like asking for the universe
to accept your sick reprise
accept it and just run with it
but nobody alive
is prepared to let this happen
the geese they must survive

we have to ban this insult
for a foodstuff right away
these poor birds go through agony
their tears they do display
many die drop dead from all the
sickness that they feel
and its to make some pate
my god you lot get real!
