Out there
are saints and angels
ordinary souls who try
and be there for the voiceless ones
the billions who now cry
out and swell the oceans
with their myriad brand of tears
and suffer most behind closed doors
harbouring such fears
the animal rights protagonists
who venture to proclaim
the animals are a species
they just are not to blame
for the cruelty and violence
that’s falls on them like rain
their blood is sucked away from them
and they are left in pain
to struggle on regardless
these angels are abroad
ready just to pay the price
that others can’t afford
people for cattle in India
and many groups out there
who give their time
and their money
and their hearts
and offer care
in the face of anger
in the face of fear
helping those now yelping
mooing grunting
and all they hear
they never turn away from them
each soul that feels some woe
someone’s there to help them
and really let them know
the are loved
