No animals now used by man are less abused
they all
suffer, life is tougher
the voiceless cannot call

what can they say
they bleat away
but we are not around
and even if we were on hand
to us, its just their sound

we do not realise the total suffering
the lamentable behaviour they undergo
mothers lose their infants
very rapidly
this torment raises questions
as some know

its wrong, and men
who do this clearly haven’t
got the first clue
just how tumultuous an event
the removal of an infant from its mother
is like taking a human child
without consent

its a kidnap and the mother
will be, beside herself
but its standard in most farms
organic too
we sink into the depths
of deprivation
with animals
who suffer what we do

Goats will never understand
the reason
Cows can’t and why should they,
anyway
human beings working with farm animals
are so unkind to all of them today

elastic bands are strung around
their testicles
and left till they drop off
and all that pain
of what is truthfully
a tight constriction
in unequalled
by now hearing it again

then they get the tagging
a thick band pushed on through
their ear we hear
them screaming
what else would they do

then of course its milking time
lined up, they are made
to stand there whilst their enormous udders
face the vile tirade

the Industry is stealing
their kid’s milk and we see
their back legs clearly so deformed
they must be in agony

strapped into the chamber
this torture and this strife
and its because
we want their milk
that the poor kid’s lost their life

around the place
the dead, who have given up the ghost
why struggle with such agony
when mankind is your host

sadly this is commerce
corporate ways are tough
its profits for the very few
and the rest who have had enough

it is it is a nightmare
that no one can escape
the murder and the torture
and the constant daily rape
