When you live in the forest
that’s where you live
the trees offer cover
but that’s what they give
we’re not what you call
great climbers
you see
we run, and we jump, and we swim
and we be
we can run in the snow
we can run in the rain
a lot of fast running
on stones is a pain
but we know
what we need
and we need you to know
that wolves are not here for hunting
we go to
the river
the woodlands
the rocks
we’re on foot
with youngsters
to feed
well it leaves us hard put
recounting everything down on this
page
surely it will take a bit of an age
and we eat, most things
and a Bison or two
Elk, Moose perhaps a goose
in our lives we do
in the wilderness where
go to howl at the moon
as our means of escape
its a reason to croon
with the great and the good
the wild spaces of time
as onwards we run
and upwards we climb
