Courage from the Yunnan activists ( China’s lit a candle and its lighting up the hearts of some)

China’s huge
and old and in its ways
is old as well
animals get a bad press
for the animals
its Hell

used in traditional medicine
eaten too, it seems
cats and dogs
pigs and frogs
but some now have good dreams

even in this god forsaken place
just recently
250 canines were
rescued happily

with courage at the fore front
and activists on hand
up against the heartless
with hammers in their hand

over a 1000 dogs now in the
shelter
it could all still go down the pan
of course
funds are needed
costs are going through the roof
paypal credit cards
send to the source

in a country
that still takes the view
that animals
really do not have a right to be
cats and dogs
and pigs and frogs
every kind of animal
can be eaten
can be murdered
never free

but there are activists
and they are working
every hour to save
those souls in pain
we must encourage
courage of this order
for in a nutshell
all of us can gain
