The vegan case

Why does it come
as the biggest surprise
that the meat trade,
the dairy boys
eggs too hide
much in the streams
that flow through
our land
of margins and profit
and all is not grand

CAFO’s are camps
really calling them farms
is an elongation
political calms
great concentrations
of animals, lost
in the vilest of prisons
where everything’s tossed
Guantanamo’s
of the animal world
which evil exists
wind swept and just
hurled
based on economies of scale
and yes, we
fail to hear their screams
though they’re there definitely

inside every soul
whether voiceless or not
beats a heart that creates
that loves, and that’s got
purpose and tragically
what we now see
is for margins and profits
we, by pass this key
objective
we mortally injure them so
cut out the caring
the love and the flow
they never feel sun
on their backs
neither do
they stand in the open
tasting the dew

its a big concrete hell
a camp where they know
their spirit is dashed
and their sadness does grow
by the hour oh dear!
till their death sentence
comes
when their loaded on trucks
to the beat of our drums
and its deafening there
as they realise fear
at the great gates of hell
they all feel it clear
death and destruction
is close,and they know
the end is near
and that’s when they slow
their gait, but the fiends
are on hand and they prod
and shout their expletives
to hasten their god
slitting their throats
with the loudest of roars
washed in rich blood
now not on all fours
chained by one leg
their world upside down
their screams
all unheard
by those souls
in the town
who will chomp
on their organs
minced up on a tray
with sweet salmonella
to help them to pay
a small contribution
to life for the soul
who gave it
so others
maintain their control
of the animals certainly
but also you
in a massive dumbing
that gives reason to
shun this production
go vegan and see
eat local, grow your own
more, organically
be ethical, walk more
shun processed food
and realise to
just to what I allude
be safe and be loving
think a bit more
go vegan remember
who is at death’s door
