A world without Elephants
can you believe it
Ivory, Zoo’s, Circus
and more
Humans are shits
there’s no getting away
from it
that’s what they’re up to
and that’s where it sits
on horizons of gore
we can see them
shadows once proudly
traverse the hills
searching for water
living a wild life
and here in the place of
their birth
their blood spills
out of great wounds
made by vile nasty poachers
who come at the behest
of Ivory gangs
Circus and Zoo’s
yes some motley crews
exacting great pain
with their terrible fangs
machete’s and guns
fire salvo after salvo
into the bodies
of these silent souls
the Elephant tribe
now die in their hundreds
cut down by poachers
who surface from holes
in the dankest existence
where the grubbiest infidels
wrestle and fight
over now what is rare
tusks of the earthlings
that live and walk out of the
wondrous sunlight
into awful despair
China and those other countries
now trading
employing the smugglers
who stuff tusks into
their cases, their cargoes
lost in the paperwork
filled with such darkness
they know what they do
more elephants die
the thunder and lightening
the blood tears the heart
out of Africa,we
look at each sunset
we pray for the great one’s
cast out of heaven
where surely they be
