This is what dreams are made of, or are they

I’d like to know
how Dear Lord Coe
can imagine that we’ll see
The greenest olympic’s ever
I listened so proudly

But With sponsors like
Dow Chemicals
and tragically BP
and Rio Tinto
truly they are not
the greenest three

No! not by a long chalk
Dow’s Agent Orange and
Bhopal, just for starters
lives lost on the land
innocent people suffered
Whilst Union Carbide
ran
on both these counts
I’m sorry Dow
I am not a fan

BP saw the gulf coast
and the people and wild life
torn a’sunder by it all
environmental strife
Rio Tinto poisonings
I can’t believe my ears
to hear that these green co sponsors
How their being, so endears

For me I cannot, ever accept
for evermore
having campaigned for over 20 years
for Bhopali’s and for sure
Agent orange decimated
the forests that were green
and the massive footprint
left behind
was more or less obscene

So I’m sorry if he felt this
The wonderful Lord Coe
Who ran some of the fastest miles
all those years ago
But I think he is mistaken
which makes for a sad day
for with these sorts of co sponsors
there’s not much left to say.
