My Mate the Badger

Badgers have been getting lots of bad press
TB and those cows again, oh dear!
They’ve been around for centuries, these creatures
Members of the fauna it is clear
Long before man and his cows were on the scene
What a digger, strong forepaws and claws
They can scrape out tunnels at quite a pace
great ancestral mansions is their cause
Cows are fed on whats controlled by humans
Little chance to eat wild plants and play
Their immune systems are far too fragile
Many of them really shot away
Badgers on the otherhand are tough nuts I would say
Wasps and Bees all tasty if they’re there
Rabbits will be turned inside out just leaving the fur
Frogs and Snakes too have no chance
and were
we to be as small as Mr Brock we ‘d have a fight
Instead we gas them blaming them for TB
which ain’t right
We pass the buck to sentients who cannot argue back
Scapegoats thats what they’ve become under
real attack
