Disposables

When I was a child
My mother had
Only Nappies of Cotton
which wasn’t so bad
Boiled on the stove
Poo soup, my dad said
But nowadays mothers
are apparently led
To disposable nappies
wear them,and bin them
Who cares about forests
They’re all far away.
Pampers are sold by the
Corporate P&G
Asda got 0 out of 13 they sayBambo and Moltex
It seems got the best vote
no perfumes and only a small
bit of gel
Waste bins in parks
Those thrown out of car
windows,
piled high in Landfill
sites, glimpses of Hell
Because people mostly don’t want to
be bothered
The environment suffers from
mountains of poo,
poly acrylates
perfumes and dyes
these wretched nappies
are no surprise
hundreds of years they sit
in Landfill
exuding, attracting the maggots
who will
chew on the fabric and die
in the process
disposable nappies
there  is be no redress
