He once was a king

He once was a king
In a jungle green
A handsome soul
In a vital scene
Of Africa and the waters edge
Where old age came
So they allege

Take it from me
I was old its true
Feeling tired
Us old folks do
Neglected somewhat
In this zoo
A dirty pond
I know its true

In China yes so far away
From Africa
And on this day
My old bones creaking
My ticker weak
I reached the pool
Far from my peak

Alone in life
Nothing to do
Its awful stuck here
In a zoo
No friends to chat with
The air is grim
Shattered really and tired of limb

I closed my eyes
I said good bye
To those I loved
And with a sigh
Once a king
But now for sure
Motionless
For evermore
