“Archie”

An accident
and Archie was the victim
Sadly he
Really came off the worse for wear
As anyone could see
His right eye very damaged
As was his mouth and jaw
And his front legs
He was in great shock
Like he had never been before.

When we found him
He was bleeding
And was in Lots of pain
We rushed him to the hospital
In a blanket
It was plain
To see our friend was needing help
And he got it quickly too
Sedated rested cleaned a bit
And examined as to what to do.

We gave him care and love
For starters
Cleaned him up and
Sedated him so he
Could sleep and in the morning
We examined him
His tail was wagging
That much we could see

We gave him medication
Some fluids
Flushed his mouth for he
Had received a really terrible knock
and in shock he be
With his courage and his temperament
Anyone could see
It Really stood him in good stead
And helped him actually

We tried to coax him to take some food
But clearly so much pain
We helped him put some food
Around his mouth
And, so again
Realised his eye was far too badly injured and
We
Operated and removed the eye
So at least he now would be

Able to recover
And liked eating and quite soon
Lots of loving cuddles
He appeared over the moon
Joyful like a sand boy
A gentle fellow he
Was soon up And running about
Really happily

Nourished he grew stronger
He loves to run about
Loves his tummy massaged
And we are in no doubt
He is a little warrior
And clearly loves it here
And everybody loves him
That much is really clear

“Archie” is a special boy
He just came through it all
He runs about enjoying life
And just comes when we call
He loves his food
He loves to play
And copes with one eye well
Everybody loves him
As I think you all can tell
