The fisherman of Taiji

Aggressive on the outside
Robotic in a way
Openly in defiance with cove guardians
i’d say
With an air of superiority
Of potency and power
Distracted by reactions
And really wondering how
Their roughness and their strong arm tactics
And ferocity
Really help them put across
Their base sobriety

Hunting and blood shedding
A bloodbath every time
Taiji’s cove and tarpaulins
The gladatorial climb
The combat of the masses
The shambles that we see
Mass murder on a massive scale
The victims of the sea

All life is so sacred
But not so at taiji
Insentient the lot of them
Oblivious they be
Thick skinned stony automatons
Numb to what we see
Imperceptive and unaware
Of how it ought to be

They get off on the physical pain
Each twinge each pinch each pang
Harrowing tormenting, and just as they hang
Mothers and their babies up to cut them into two
There are no tears we ever see
Its not what these folk do

There appears no curiosity
Not an enquiring mind
Officious and apathetic
They seem not to unwind
Ready to punch your lights out
And threaten right away
Always in opposition
No matter what we say

Its killing and its training
Thats the order of the day
The bangers boats
Within the floats
Pushed into the bay
Under the tarps the victims fall
Chopped up lost for sure
Swimming in the blood of friends
And ofcourse their gore

Screwballs if you ask me
Nutjobs most would seem
Sociopaths and oddballs
Certainly not the cream
Of japanese society
Yet they have quite some power
Defective though in many ways
One must question how

Taiji remains active
In the killing sphere
Murdering the bottlenose and others year on year
The meat is just disgusting and fewer eat it, they
Apparently put culture first
And tradition so they say.
