Concrete

My name denotes
My meaning
A person of the forest
And sitting here on concrete floors
With concrete walls I feel
Really how absurd it is
What is in fact ineptitude
The forest was so vibrant
And here things are so crude

I suffer being a tree dweller
Sitting in this place
My feet are really killing me
It is such a disgrace
How human beings arrogance
Takes its toll on me
They instruct me, its not teaching
How I ought to be

Using soap and water
Palm oil to wash and clean
It was the ruddy oil
Groves
That were so obscene
Tearing down our precious forest
So corporates could make
A profit not a prophet in sight
Its all just fake

And now i sit here listening
To people saying aw
They think that I am happy
That I don’t know the score
My family killed my trees chopped down
For palm oil so my end
Carted off to a concrete jungle
Which of course does send

Me and all my family
To hell and back to where
Sanity is leaving us
We suffer the despair
Of humans offering soap to us
Palmic acid we
Suffer from your ignorance
Which you lot fail to see

Yes i wash in front of you
They taught it to me
But tearing down the forest
Thats a human thing
They be

Oblivious of the thousands
Of earthlings in that place
And most were all killed instantly
Which I think is a disgrace

All the birds and insects
The reptiles and the bees
All the tiny mammals
They too lived in the trees
Even the indigenous people
Were moved on some were killed
And you can see me washing
I do hope you are thrilled
