Shell’s oil’s blunder

Shell oil is there
The Arctic she
Already cries
Impassioned by
The threats
And as many lies

This multi national monster
With its crude black heart is set
Fine on our destruction
Which humanity has let

The comfortless emotion
The unpropitious fate
The inauspicious chivalry
And the ominous debate

Despair is at the surface
Distrust for all they do
Be overawed and less assured
Their brinkmanship is true

A total indiscretion
Temerity and haste
Ill considered and ill advised
If we should get a taste

Of what was pristine wilderness
And soon may surely be
A tangled and exploded world
Of breakneck antipathy

Imagining the bore holes
Imagining the pipes
Imagining the nightmares
And the confounded types

Of oil men rank and eager
To blot their copy books
An insatiable desire it seems
To somehow plant their hooks

And to burst into the heavens
Take its power to where
Many a soul is secretly
Completely unaware
