SAmhain

Darkness seemingly can
feel quite negative
But not to those nocturnal souls
who ply
They feel free and positive
more so than some think
For seldom do the human tribe
Ask why

The veil between the living and those passing
Is thinner at this time as some can see
Life and death is a cycle pure and simple
And we all know what ancestors mean for we

At Samhain concentrate our finer thoughts upon
Those who took the silent path to where
We all go in the passage through the darkness
And look back at this time our worlds to share

The wider family stepped up and were always
With us in our journeys through true time
Those that closed their eyes and left for other plains
And took the higher mountains for to climb

We think of them as fondly as we ever can
Each one of them brings tears that wet our cheek
Samhain and the roll rights as we ramble as we share
The rich November evening and recite the pagans prayer

We may see them we may feel them they are closer than we know
Breathing sharing life itself the great eternal glow
That draws us ever onwards into darkness into light
Open up your eyes and hearts and send your love tonight
