Baby elephants and the circus

These are just babies
born into the world
just imagine the grief
when the baby is hurled
into the circus
the arena of fear
where torment and torture
will always be near

bull hooks and stun prods
and thick ropes and more
its like a great dungeon
where blood sweat and gore
are called into question
the threats they are there
all 4 legs roped up
hoping to scare

left in the dark, for hours
on end
yes its enough to truthfully
send
a babe to another place
far in its head
emotional blackmail
there it is said

to get any souls to do tricks
then one must
torture and starve them
of course its unjust
the circus needs bums on seats
and people to come
when the elephant trumpets
and bangs on his drum

they taught silly things
below their desire
their minds are brilliant
their hearts are on fire
with the ignorance out there
expecting them too
stand on their rear legs
and bow just for you

the expletives, the torture
it does get them down
and they do have long memories
and any clown
who tries it on
watch out for ele will be
taking her chance
and might squash you, you’ll see

its the babies that suffer
when taken from mum
they get no instruction
and boy they need some
they dont have parameters
but soon their shown
what to do, where to go
how they go its all known

but really its futile
in so many ways
for if one does attack anyone
then he pays
bull hooks and iron bars and hammers
crash down
on the unexpecting
some do go to town

with bullhooks in flesh
and hammers on legs
remember they are tied
up on great wooden pegs
strung out and left
with nothing to do
but think till their spirit is broken
in two

emotional blackmail
and evil is used
these little babies are being abused
The RSPCA is no where to be found
for its done in dark rooms
where their cries can be drowned

Circus is evil and should now be banned
no animal ever could understand
why the harsh treament
and what of the tricks
some just a few
might knock someone for six
then get the treatment
that can really be
high up on torture
and dire cruelty

and how babies react
to this
clearly we see
their spirit beaten
mercilessly
torrents of abuse
hurled at them
each day
whether they are coming
or going they pay
a high price for being
included and they
will remember their torturers
though anyway

and one day far off in the future
maybe
when the trainers forgotten
how cruel he could be
may be he’s older
and wiser by far
the elephant might
kick his butt
and just scar
his body a bit
give him something to feel
elephants play it cagey
and real

but animals really should be
left to roam
in the jungles and forests
that they know as home
man is a brute
is a monster for he
wants to subjugate animals
and brutally
break them its not right
what is done
for so called entertainment
which just isn’t fun

those people who go there
to be entertained
lack judgement I feel
I suppose its in grained
from their childhood that circus
was the place to go
the big top the ringmaster
it was the show

but its now passed its sell by date
and going sour
cruelty clearly carries the hour
the fact that its babies here
does do my head
in I must say I really see red
when grown men attacl baby elephants, and
when I have a go at them they dont understand

thats because they are brutal
senseless and dumb
they have no compassion
and no respect they are numb
to anyones feelings even their own
their diet their lifestyle
the seeds they have sown

more and more protests
and protestors too
with their boards and their fog horns
always in view
the circus is getting some stick
which is right
and most of the shows
are now empty all night
