The Wolves of Montana we must stand up and save them

Montana sees the anti wolf
brigade about to try
and get the wolves de listed
so that large numbers will die

Montana has a chilling number
of interests other than
wild life
really wild life
will just go down the pan

we have to fight their corner
we have to stand our ground
when wolf objectors get together
they make quite a sound

and we must not, be complacent
wild life has to stay
we cannot lose these precious souls
and we must not let them pay

the legislation drawn up by them
really is unfair
its evil and its tragic
and laced with pure despair

allowing traps and nasty snares
hunting for 10 months a year
that’s when they are pregnant
and when the cubs appear

luring wolves out into traps
and using their bodies to
lure members of the same pack
is not the thing to do

but its written into law
in fact
its cruel and its badly put
its unethical behaviour
by at least a thousand foot

we must not let them get the upper hand
we have to be
working hard to save our wolves
for perpetuity

Montana will be the worse off
if the wolves are lost for sure
they must be left to walk in peace
as they have done before

though its clear the cattle people
with money in the pot
are after getting rid of wolves
and clearly they are not

phased now how they do it
any cruel way will do
as long as the only wolves left
are those rotting in some zoo
