Of course we all possess the right
to have the choice,
and why not
but I wonder if you will permit
and listen to my voice
the fur trade may present itself
as a caring sharing lot
but be assured at the killing end
they truthfully are not
they employ now, out in China
a really ugly crowd
of butchers who have torn away
the shackles and unbowed
they slaughter with impunity
and an agonised refrain
all kinds of fur bearing earthlings
who have felt the fur trade pain
its basic, it is awful
its heartless and its sick
the profits made its as if, this stage
the arithmetic is a trick
for victims are so punished
and, left to bleed out
in such agony and this lady is true
there is no doubt
so buying into all of that
its your judgement to do
but why someone as famous
someone yes like you
would want to so associate
with the evils that abound
in a trade that digs the dirt
and where its victims all are downed
( in their own blood)
I love the poem Rex. The whole issue of cruelty makes my blood boil. Thank you for what you have said. I have a book too, and a couple of poems in it (not as good as yours though). Check it out if ever you see it. It’s called Tarka and me.
Best wishes friend,
Pete.
Dear Peter thanks for your kind words and I will look for the book and read it, how kind of you. Fur and animals are my life really now although I write a lot about the environment and things that interest ethereal fairy type witchy things too
Beautiful!!! =D
How I wish those people saw the horrors those animals suffer… Maybe they’d change their minds. And if they already have, there is no hope.
Thank you Maria how sweet of you to take time to comment on my blog I do so appreciate that
Thank you.
Its a shame , influential celebs could make such a huge impact on the fur industry. So sad they are misguided,I still think that all of these folk , who seem to be animal lovers, with education and facts about fur, could and will be our biggest allies… It should be compulsory that design schools educate their students about how fur is produced…and yes, I loved your poem..keep up the good work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks Sally what a lovely soul you are to take time to give me some feedback thanks for that and thanks for your sweet words we all make a difference all of us
Very touching poem, I doubt she will read it let alone stop promoting fur, when she actually enjoy provoquing anti fur people, but hopefully there will be a ban on fur farm and trade everywhere. All these posch brands like Dior, Chanel, Versace make me sick! They make suffering glamorous, fur should have no place in fashion!
Thanks for your comments I always hope they will read the poem somewhere along the line and write many general poems under this fur category on my blog I just wrote to her to Joan Rivers to Paula Abdul and to Rihanna and Laady Gaga to see whether it got a response, one has to try these things, it also encourages others to get interested and involved.
Thanks again for your comments
