The mouse and the Fox

A mouse and a fox
We both did see
Eyes closed
Automatically
They didn’t see the old year out
Or the new year in
What’s that about

Of all the people in Potten End
The mouse chose you
As his loving friend
Of all the people in Gaddesden town
Where you would be
In your wintry gown
Above to soften his exit through
To the great abundance
Thanks to you
