Collision

Milton Ontario set the scene
A truck fully loaded
Where had it been
To a chicken factory
And tightly packed
Thousands of young birds
That had been attacked
By the forces above
By the forces below
Crammed into cages
Now we all know

Imagine the shock
Imagine the pain
A ghastly encounter
The driver insane
With the mash up of bodies
A few still alive
The great realisation
That few did survive

Off to the slaughterhouse
That was to where
How they were packed in
How they did share
Their short lives together
Squashed extra tight
Thrown every which way
At a great height

Those who indulge in the nuggets
Some do
Remember the carnage
The pain which is true
They have hearts and minds
Each has a soul
Look into their dead eyes
That tragedy stole

Animal rights came
He watched some just die
We know they are chickens
With tears in his eye
He witnessed their passing
He glimpsed the refrain
Of hundreds and hundreds
Left there in the rain

Their bodies destroyed
By the forces around
Canada knowing where they were bound
For the death camp
Their bodies feathers and all
To be turned into nuggets
And now they haul
These crates to the dump
And the living would be
Buried alive
Some were gasping you see
