Stand with them

Be one with cows with sheep with pigs
Share the order of their lives
The harmonious and the strict
Regulated and orderly
We must not evict

Them from their genuine wildness
Their beginning and their end
Their reconciliation that they
Demonstrate and send

How they deal with isolation
How they tolerate the ways
Husbandry is thrown around
And cruelty that stays

Torturing their inner soul
The repetition too
Dealing with infinity
Live exports darkly view

Periods of containment
Torture through and through
Perpetual and long lasting
It’s how the farmers do

Such rotten things to all of us
Shipments made by sea
Crammed together sharing sweat and shit
And wee

Being forced together
Suffering the plight
Of nightmares and the violence
Of yes night after night .
