Yao Niang and feet binding

Why is it the feminine form
Always has
To go through such torture
The razzamatazz
Of foot binding all of that
Excruciating pain
Inexplicable really I’d say
In this day and age
Women thankfully don’t
Have to suffer inaudible rage
Binding the feet with blood and bandages
Wrapping them tightly until
Broken the suffering terrible
Like the new moon shape
Really still
Danced on her toes
For the great LinYu
An Emperor who found it all
Amazingly erotic suffering badly
Common sense really the school
Of thought it caught on
For the feminine charm
You needed to be crippled and sad
Stunted histrionics
Awkward and inelegant
Today it would be totally mad

Disablement disfigurement
Torture and hell
Being indisposed
Unwilling to spill
Sense and true sense of choice
And of thought
The dirtiest trick
That ever was sought

Angst and discomfort
Misfortune and pain
So very uncomfortable
Under such strain
Permanent injurious wounding for what
Became detrimental
And pretty it’s not

Deformed mutilated
Lame and infirm
Chronically suffering
And all long term
A scourge and a festering
In rapid decline
Deterioration and the most painful sign
Bound feet such terror
Such awfulness they
The women subjected
To a perilous way
Of limping and dragging
One’s feet dangerously
So Torpid and sluggish
And Inactivity.
