Is man really kind?

Science creates problems
But the problem is that we
Imagine science is a god
How ever bad it be
It has potentiality
But it also can transcend
And recreate more problems
That some may then defend
Chemistry is intricate
The need is to be sure
How to balance chemicals
The need to know the law
The positive composition
And really what it’s for

Synthetics are the problem
And specifics too can be
Very highly toxic
For those
that are sensitively
Absorbing and attracting
Particularly those who
receive a foreign substance
Which Do certainly reach into
The immune and nervous systems
Causing chaos there
And predatory animals
Then are bound to share

Take the Chinook Salmon
Also called the King
It’s really being poisoned
Oil spills really bring
It to a head and PCB’s
And other nasty stuff
PBDE’s flame retardants
Life for them is tough
In our textiles and coatings
And finishing for they
Get into the fishes guts
And really make them pay

And who lives on these salmon
The orca the black soul
Suffering from boat noise
But losing its control
The toxins now from industry
Is causing so much harm
Calves are dying rapidly
It is hard to stay calm
With so much terror in the seas
And the earlier times when we
Stole the orca’s for the parks
The Sea world symphony
And when this hunting is carried out
Other orca’s die
So with so many victims
There in lies the reason why

Orca’s are now suffering
With salmon less and less
Those still swimming toxic
Giving them such stress
DDT is still around
And is still affecting they
Are suffering from man UN kind
Who makes cetaceans pay
A high price for his arrogance
On any given day

Flame retardants get into the
Marrow
They accumulate and weaken
And we know
They are a serious threat to all and sundry
And FUKUSHIMA is part of the flow
The Pacific as we know is radioactive
Denied by Science which appears to me
Sad creating what can only be described
As a really terribly sick anomaly

And so we see the orca’s really struggling
The salmon suffering as more buildings are
Put upon the flood plain
Degrading salmon habitats
Logging sediments
Life seems so in vain
Pharmaceutical drugs washed every which way
Agricultural run offs too cause stress
This is what is happening all around the planet
Really we are in an awful mess
