The fairness of a human cry

The fairness of the human cry
Above all else to me
That smell of hunter interference
Resonates to free
All the plangent ringing
Brazen shrieks and The odd moan
The discord in that moment
Of just being alone
A source of light before me
And the cathedral all of stone

Of luminous persuasion
A curiosity
To climb those steps of heaven
And be forever free
A reindeer must examine
The risks of wanting to
Find some answers for the thoughts
That seem to now come through

The confidence of knowing
The expectation too
The sentiment of suggestion
And what all this does do
The great doors they were open
And so I walked inside
A smell of incense followed
Expectantly I tried

The steps up to the altar
Where the light was extra bright
Where candlesticks were burning
With an aura of white light
Escaping to this boundless place
Just seemed so unreal
As to a meaning there is none
Nothing to reveal

Sculptures and engraving
Pictures everywhere
Just elegance and clarity
For anyone to share
And share I did
For outside I heard the hunters cry
passing in their truck
Clearly they were on my case
But had run out of luck

The cathedral was my saving grace
They wouldn’t come in here
And all the while I looked around
To me it was very clear
This was a place that even they
Respected and wouldn’t think
The prey that they were after
Had also seen the link

Between death and salvation
The hunters don’t have a clue
And when I thought they were miles away
I left to join my crew
Back in the dark forest
Where the witches and the owls
Congregate and work their spells
In great cavernous bowels
THat run under the forest
In the cave system where we
The animals and others
Stay out of jeopardy
