Slaves

I must say I do
find it sad
that human beings, who
have experienced the slavery
of people still now do
the very same to animals
chain them up al day
gestation crates and batteries
of chickens, the dismay
caused to a living
breathing soul
must be a dreadful shock
Imprisoned and manipulated
and treated as stock
one’s individuality
is taken, stripped away
and you become a number
on a line, yes everyday
its not as if your are
a criminal
its just that men decide
your their slave forever
and you’will’ remain inside
a filthy shed, a light all day
no chance to rest or sleep
pecked at,developing sores and
being tortured as you weep
a bold leap of faith
is not apparent
for you are just a slave
and will be till the end comes
and then you have no grave
so not even death allows you
to rest, to rest in peace
that’s when your cut to pieces
that is when your lease
ran out, your switch turned off
by men who decide what is your fate
imagine for one moment
I bet they cannot wait
to be herded into filthy trucks
and taken to that place
that vile cruel camp of death
awaits where slaves then have to face
their own sweet loss of life
even torment, is life of sorts
the throat cut and the dangling
that ends those final thoughts.
