The Rhino Wars

Its just seems unbelievable
that in this day and age
People could be forced to pay
Prices off the page
Take Rhino Horn for instance
Its purely Keratin with a small amount
of calcium
and bad karma by the tin
But still on the Black market
Chinese merchants pay
60,000 $ per kilo that is way
More than almost any other animal
product and
Supposedly makes men who can’t
into men who can
But to understand the logic
Only the desperate try
to increase their libido
with a price that’s way too high

Which attracts the evil poacher
A desolated soul
Who armed with a tranquillizer gun
Will always have control
Whilst the Rhino, is sleeping
These monstrosities for men
Are hacking with machete’s
or chain saws, what mayhem!
They’re causing to the animal
who wakes, only to find
The nightmare she was having
Was of the real time kind
Her baby has been beaten up
and is lying on the ground
Her agony apparent
Aware that she was found
And butchered by the people
Who work for the Chinese
And now she begins her walk
of death
with no one to appease
Her, no one to help her
She must surely die
And her pretty little baby
too,huge tears fill her eye

China could now wake up
to this slaughter
To the gangsters in the business really who
Fool the sick with claims that this can heal them
When its a work of fiction
its not true
The scarcity of Rhino Horn
is worrying
for at least 1 Rhino is
killed everyday
Its terribly unsavoury
and has really passed the point
Of no return and so to them I say

Rhino’s all Rhino’s are under pressure
For millions of years these creatures
have evolved
armour clad,and almost prehistoric
This puzzle as to why has to be solved
Keratin is in our nails so people
Should bite their nails and leave
Rhino’s alone
There is now no excuse
For this summary abuse
And I think now that we have to raise our tone

(Thanks Sophie Grizard for reminding me
of this)
