Ruth

North Carolina
Saw Ruth, a sweet soul
She came to the clinic
Just about in control
She had her faculties
Not helped by those
Who purported to love her
The vile so and so’s

Dehydrated and starving
Advanced emaciation
Imagine her feelings
Such a transformation
From a beautiful soul
Full of vivacious charm
To one of neglect and unloved
But still calm

An old skull fracture
Just 3 years of age
Zach’s rescue had rescued her
It’s off the page!
Her suffering really
Skeletal and sick
Discarded on a dump site
By some human dick

A compassionate construction worker
Then found
What looked to be just living trash
On the ground
In the vilest of states
But with eyes that did show
She was in great pain
But not ready to go

She still had some spirit
She still could appeal
To the heart of a stranger
Her aura was real
He called for help and
Her rescue was made
They all need funds
But her bills will be paid

Her former guardians
Left her for dead
In a trash heap of all places
Angels ahead
Of the demons who left with them
They were taken away
Just leaving the angels
With Ruth on that day

Ruth is recovering
Now Thankfully
Though Many less fortunate
Die tragically
We must keep our hearts open
Keep our eyes peeled
Listen out for the whimpering
That is often concealed
In the rigours of man un kind
His kith and kin
Who give up to such evil
And descend into sin
