it pains me to say

How hard it is to understand

another earthlings pain

how they cope with injury

the relentlessness again

it limits movement sometimes

and causes one to be

less than energetic

which some may never see

humanity and compassion

can be lost

in another’s mood

sympathy ongoing

how it can exude

to be there for the voiceless tribe

so what can they do

try to remain passive

and just wait for that clue

venomous persuasion

hardbitten hostile souls

who lay into your body

grim faced just taking roles

some above their station

not understanding why

you look at them with attitude

whilst inside you just cry

you never really understand

how they never see

how sad you are and how

much you love them

though it cannot be

and often you get beaten up

sworn at  maybe so

with your tail between your legs

you leave

but you don’t want to go

you really want to stay close by

though it pains me to say

pretending that they love you

helps you right away

an earthling has to suffer

the vagaries of those

humans who are hear to learn

but never really chose

the pitiless approach
